Vai Sikahema Vows To Knock Out Popular Radio Host
Most football fans remember when NBC 10 sports director Vai Sikahema punched the goal posts at Giants Stadium as a Philadelphia Eagle, but later this month, he'll be tossing knuckles again, this time in an attempt to knock out a popular radio host.Sikahema will butt heads with 95.7 Ben-FM host Dave Cruise at a Jan. 19 charity event at Marple Sports Arena in Broomall, Pa.The two held a press conference earlier in the week, building hype.
Sikahema and Cruise exchanged words -- mostly threats -- both vowing to claim victory later in the month."You're no Jade McCarthy. You're no John Clark. You're the third toughest sports reporter at NBC 10. Man, I'm going to mess you up," Cruise touted.A steel-faced, skull-cap-wearing Sikahema shot right back, introducing his star-studded cast of corner men and fight-night fans, including Tongan pro football players. His nephew, Philadelphia Eagle Reno Mahe, was named Sikahema's cut man, although Sikahema predicted his nephew's job will be easy."As the cut man, he's going to be like the Maytag repairman," Sikahema announced. "He'll have nothing to do that night other than sit and watch a fight."Sikahema continued, saying he'll wait to knock Cruise out until the third round so his fans, some of whom are flying in from faraway places, will get their money's worth."I go in and I train, I eat right," Sikahema said. "I sleep well. And I'm telling you, I'm hitting the bag, and it's heavy."It's going to be scary for him," he continued, looking into a TV camera. "Because if I were in his shoes, I'd be scared to friggin' death."

Then, Cruise and Sikahema postured up, face to face, to throw closing verbal punches."All you do is talk and dance, talk and dance, and punch goal posts," Cruise said.Sikahema stood stoically, with nine final words."It's going to be a long night for you," he said.
