21 years oldHometown: Limerick, PATo me, fashion represents more than a person's visual taste (whether it be good or bad). Fashion is an expression of a mind that has an infinite amount of new ideas. Fashion is the definition of a walking piece of art. As a designer, I sculpt, paint, and accentuate the human form. Fashion is not just my major or future job; it is my heart, organs, and soul. Fashion is art, and art is fashion. Before I knew how to sew, I would make my own dresses out of safety pins and super glue. I would then paint on the fabric and create my own print design. I want to break out of the same old mold, and I want to change the way people think. In such a stereo-typically, shallow world of fashion, I want to expand it by adding intellect, abstraction and thought. It's not just about "the girl wearing a pretty dress", its about how that dress represents the girls deepest and darkest secrets, it represents who she is and what her dreams are.Fashion represents a person's absolute self. This is why I am a fashion designer; I want to help people define who they are and all of their desires in one garment. To me, that is the most passionate and rewarding challenge of all.
