My name is Vedrana Jegdic. I was born in the city of Mostar, former Yugoslavia. In 1992 at the outbreak of a civil war, my family moved to the Island of Sardinia, Italy, where I lived for five years before settling in the United States in 1997. Fashion design is a thriving passion of mine, and has always been a significant part of my persona. For the past four years, I have been studying fashion design at Philadelphia University and will be graduating this coming May. As a designer, my concentration is high-end runway fashion for women's wear, specializing in concept and collection development. My individual design philosophy regards the woman as the most enticing, layered, and invigorating creation, and thus she must be treated accordingly. The woman is by far mankind's most complex muse. As such, my design creations focus on understanding and accommodating the complex layers of a woman's nature; the focus being her femininity, sensuality, and elegance. A firm believer that simplicity overrides extravagance, my design collections display clean silhouettes with select accentuations, tailored and simple style lines, expensive looks, and the ultimate comfort. Crucial to my philosophy is the belief that more is never the better; simplicity with intricate refinement is. My inspiration palette is a combination of people, history, cultures, travel, art, simplicity, and the abstract. The beauty of the design process is that each woman is individual; my clothing creations are made to elevate a woman's unique nature in a manner that reflects her individual taste. My goal is to make sure that the next time a woman contemplates purchasing a clothing item, that she looks no further than Vedrana. My vision is to have the international Vedrana designer label for women's wear within the next five to ten years for women across the globe. Stay tuned and look for Vedrana in the near future.
