With 200 galleries and over 250,000 works of art to discover, the Museum ranks among the top world-class cultural institutions presenting more than 2000 years of human artistic expression. Upcoming special exhibitions include one of the greatest landscape painters of the Dutch Golden Age, Jacob van Ruisdael; an astonishing American Modernist, Beauford Delaney; and a true American Icon, Andrew Wyeth. Grace Kelly's wedding dress will be on view too. And don't forget "Art After 5" every Friday night, when the Great Stair Hall is transformed into an intimate cabaret setting with lively jazz performances.

The word is out among world-class artists: the Kimmel Center brings great performers and great audiences together in one fabulous series, with more first-time performances than ever this season, including Tony Bennett, Chick Corea, James Levine and the Boston Symphony, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and much more. Plus there's Philadelphia's home-grown talent too, such as Lang Lang, The Roots, and Jerry "the Geator" Blavat. The season closes with the historic debut of the Kimmel Center Organ, as its 6,938 pipes fill the hall with music and fun events for the whole family.

Pennsylvania Ballet's 2005 – 2006 Season opens with the return internationally acclaimed Swan Lake. In March the Company celebrates the 300th Birthday of Benjamin Franklin with Christopher d'Amboise's Franklin Court, performed with James Kudelka's mesmerizing The Firebird. Next, Spring is filled with butterflies and fairies when Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream returns in April, and the company premiere of Ulysses Dove's sensuous Red Angels. And don't miss the city's most beloved holiday tradition, The Nutcracker!

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia performs 10 concert-pairs from September through June in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater. Guest artists for the 2005 - 2006 season include the acclaimed Eroica Trio; conductors Otto-Werner Mueller, Jahja Ling and Ransom Wilson; violinists Jennifer Frautschi and Judith Ingolfsson; baritone Wolfgang Holzmair and clarinetist David Shifrin. The season opens with an All-Beethoven program featuring the "Triple" Concerto and Fifth Symphony and closes with three programs dedicated to the late works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The Opera Company of Philadelphia's 2005–2006 Season features three operas that are beloved classics and a fourth that is destined to become one. Verdi's A Masked Ball, Rossini's The Barber of Seville and Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro are all masterpieces featuring such well-known melodies that even the opera novice will recognize them from their first glorious notes. Be sure to see the East Coast Premiere of Margaret Garner, an important new work by Grammy Award-winning composer Richard Danielpour, starring Angela Brown.
