The Make A Wish Foundation helps dreams come true for thousands of sick children. One Delaware County boy is asking to fulfill a wish not just for him, but for an entire school community.Tommy Geromichalos, 12, struggles with cystic fibrosis.
He doesn't want a trip to Disney world, or tickets to a sporting event.Instead, he asked the Make A Wish Foundation to keep his school, St. Cyril's in East Lansdowne, from closing."All my friends are there. The teachers are great and they're my second family," Tommy said."It's a wish for his friends, his parish, the people he grew up with the community of St. Cyril's. That's his wish," said his mother, Connie Geromichalos. The Make A Wish Foundation said it would like to help, but can't come up with the money. So the school and parents are holding a fundraising drive to raise the $200,000 the archdiocese said it needs to keep the school open.If you want to help, you can donate, by calling St. Cyril School at (610) 623-1113.
