How To Remove Your Child's MySpace Account

If your child has a MySpace Account that you want to cancel and remove the site, here are the steps you need to take: Go to www.myspace.com
On the right-hand side of the screen, there will be a box that says e-mail address and password. Type your child's e-mail address and password in and click on "log in."
Your child's profile should appear on the screen. Next to the picture in the top left hand corner, there will be a link that says "Account Settings" Click on this link.
At the top of the screen it will say "Change Account Settings" and right below it, there will be three links in a row. The third link will say "Cancel Account" Click on this link.
The screen will then ask you to confirm that you want to cancel the account, Click on the red button that says "Cancel my account."
A second confirmation page will appear again asking you if you are sure you want to cancel your account. Click the red button that says "Cancel my Account."
They will then send a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address the account used. You can use this to verify that site has been taken down.
If, for some reason, the Web site remains with your child's information:
Go back and log in with your child's e-mail address and password.
When their profile appears on the screen, in the upper left-hand corner to the right of their photo, click on the first link that says "Edit Profile."
Go through each line and delete all of the information provided.
In the "About Me" Section, type in the words "Remove Profile."
Make sure you go through each section across the top of the screen starting with "Interests and Personality" and ending with "Profile songs."
My Space says the profile will be taken down after these steps are completed.
For Offensive Pictures on MySpace:
If you see an offensive image on MySpace, here are the steps you should take:
Click directly on the image, and right below the picture there should be three links.
The third link should say "report this image" Click on it.
When the pop up appears asking if you are sure you want to report the image, click on "OK."
Another form will appear telling you what myspace thinks is offensive, if you think the image fits their terms, click on the link below that says "report this image."
A confirmation screen will appear, and the image should be taken care of quickly.
For offensive content on a profile that is not a picture:
If you want to report an entire profile, or even part of one, here are the steps you need to take:
Go onto the homepage of the site you want to report.
At the very bottom on the screen there will be a list of links that starts with "About" and ends with "MySpace International."
Click on the link that says "Report Inappropriate Content."
A form will appear, you can either describe the offensive material, or simply type "submit report."
A confirmation screen will appear.
For any other problems associated with MySpace.com, go to their Web site, and on the top right-hand corner click on the link that says "Help."
