Randal Pinket has joined Trump's three Atlantic City casinos at a very crucial time for the gaming halls, and Pinket believes it's a firm bet that he will play a winning role in making them more competitive.
Pinket marked his first day on Trump's payroll Tuesday at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City."It's been a very warm welcome, I must say. There's a lot of excitement here in Atlantic City, particularly at the Trump Properties," Pinket said.Pinket is already getting up to speed on what will be his primary role during the year-long apprenticeship -- helping to oversee extensive renovation and expansion projects at the three aging Trump properties."Certainly, I have a learning curve for the industry," Pinket said. After emerging from bankruptcy last year, the company is now poised to add new retail and dining venues to help it compete with other local casinos, which have found success with non-gaming attractions.Pinket was born in South Philadelphia, raised in Central Jersey, has five degrees and runs a consulting firm."I'm not here to hang out. I'm here to add value to this organization and really bring my expertise and bring my experience to what's happening here and learn at the same time," Pinket said.Pinket will also help market Trump's push to get the Pennsylvania gaming license needed to open a slots parlor in Philadelphia. By the way, he says he plays the slots here and there, but is not a big-time gambler.
