Prosecutors said that the case that started with one victim now has five. The teenage boys were all ready to confront their alleged abuser face to face in court. However, they did not have to.
Police led Meenan back to Bucks County Jail after he waived his preliminary hearing, sparing his alleged victims from having to testify."They were ready, and ready to go but everyone is relieved we didn't have to have the hearing today," said Daniel Sweeney, a prosecutor.Meenan was arrested for allegedly raping and molesting two teenage boys. Since then, three more boys came forward with similar accusations.Police said that all five teens worked for Meenan at a stand he ran at the Quakertown Farmer's Market.Police said that this is not the first time Meenan has faced molestation chargesIn 1987, he was sentenced to 17 years in prison for sexually assaulting three boys in Bensalem, Pa. But the state court overturned the conviction, saying that Meenan was improperly tried. He pled guilty and spent three years in jail.Prosecutors are continuing their investigation to find out if there are even more alleged victims of Meenan."We start with one and we're up to five at this point. Like I said before, he has been in this area for three or four years now. He previously lived in east Philadelphia in the late 90s. It is an ongoing investigation," Sweeney said.Prosecutors said that Meenan used the same method to get to his victims. He befriended their parents by helping them out financially and spending holidays with some of the others. If he is convicted, Meenan faces a possible 20-year mandatory minimum jail sentence and lifetime registration under Megan's Law. He is being held in the county prison on $1 million bail.
