A few days ago, a wayward nail gun nearly killed him. A three-inch nail was pushed straight into Jed Bryant's skull. His friends and family prayed for his survival.

"I am amazed," said Bryant. "Like I said, I mean the good lord saved me."

A co-worker of Bryant's accidentally shot the gun while standing over him at a construction site. When the gun went off, 90 pounds of pressure shot the nail right into Bryant's head.

"I could actually hear, like, little chunks of bone moving around inside of there because it broke some of the skull, " said Bryant. "I knew I was in trouble."

A helicopter rushed Byrant to the hospital. He went into shock as his body tried to fight off the foreign object. Bryant's family was alerted at once.

"They said there'd been an accident and that Jed had a nail gun hit him on the brain," said Jed's father, Paul. "Well, I didn't really know what that meant for sure, you know. I just told Jay we've got to go, go get your mom."

More miraculous is that Bryant's brain stem was a mere quarter inch from the nail tip.

While infection is still a concern, Bryant has seen little consequence from the accident. Now he is just ready for life to return to normal.

A full recovery is expected.
