NJ Mom Accused of Starving Child

A New Jersey mother is set to appear in court this morning to face charges of aggravated manslaughter and child endangerment.

Thirty-year-old Venette Ovilde of Irvington is being accused of starving her daughter to death.

On May 22, 8-year-old Christiana Glenn died due to an untreated broken leg and malnutrition. According to authorities, Ovilde’s two other children have been removed from the home and are being hospitalized for malnutrition and other injuries.

Ovilde’s roommate, 23-year-old Myriam Janvier who faces child endangerment charges, will also face the judge in Newark today.
