POSTED: 6:32 pm EDT May 16, 2008
UPDATED: 7:02 pm EDT May 16, 2008

A burglary call led to a big pot bust in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.

Police said the marijuana plants were part of what was an elaborate operation.

It was being run out of a home in the 5900 block of North Beechwood Street.

Officers said all three floors were full of plants.

They said lamps and other equipment used to grow them were a huge fire hazard.

"There's a tremendous amount of heat in there," Philadelphia Police Department Inspector Bob Snyder said.

Police were called to the home early Friday morning for a report of a burglary.

The marijuana has an estimated street value of $700,000.

Three people are being questioned.
