Police said a Philadelphia carjacking led to a terror-filled ride that resulted in the execution-style killing of a man and a woman being repeatedly raped.

The carjacking happened in the 4500 block of Castor Avenue and the trail led to a hotel near Quaker Bridge Road in Lawrenceville, Mercer County.

"This guy for some reason at 3:30 in the morning just tried to go on this violent spree of repeatedly raping a young lady and committing homicide execution style," Fred Harran, of Bensalem police, said.

Police are looking for a man suspected to be involved in a spree of crimes that police said started at a late-night club in Northeast Philadelphia.

"This is a violent individual. This man had raped this woman for approximately three hours through numerous jurisdictions and then cold bloodedly shot a man execution style," Harran said.

Edgar Gutierrez, 33, and a female friend left Jalapeno Joe's at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

"A black male subject approached them and displayed a weapon and basically carjacked them, kidnapped them at gunpoint," Harran said.

Police said a drive began up Route 1 toward Bensalem. As Gutierrez drove police said the man repeatedly raped the woman.

"He then had exited the Route 1 area at Street Road," Harran said.

That's when police said the drive turned deadly.

"And basically in cold blood shot him dead right there on the ramp," Harran said.

A passer-by discovered Guiterrez's body Sunday afternoon.

Guiterrez's family gathered together Tuesday and we're clearly distraught.

"This is a killer of my family, for what," Rene Gutierrez, an uncle of victim, said.

Police said the gunman's crime didn't stop there. He took the woman to a Comfort Inn along Route 1 in Lawrenceville and continued to rape her until the woman was able to lure the gunman in to the hall, police said.

"She was able to get him to leave the room. They got a soft drink, at which point she saw an opportunity to escape," Harran said.

Surveillance cameras captured the gunman just seconds after the woman fled in her moment of freedom.

"She jumped over the counter and made signals to the clerk to basically call 911," Harran said.

Bensalem police said they believe the gunman then fled in the victim's 1998 black Buick Regal with temporary Pennsylvania tags in the rear window and license plate tag EYK-9463. He is thought to be living in the Philadelphia area, police said.

"The fact that he shot someone in the back of the head plus repeatedly raped a woman for three hours I don't think we need any verbiage on his level of violence. You don't get any more violent than that," Harran said.
