A local man said he has video of a cougar in a field near his home.

There have been several sightings in Landenberg, Pa., near the border with Delaware and Maryland.

A while back, Charles Henry discovered the paw prints but a few days ago, he ran into the big cat who left them.

"There's no doubt in my mind that's not a house cat," Henry said.

Henry said it's a cougar roaming the fields behind his house.

"That's where it was sitting," he said.

He has now videotaped the animal a bunch of times.

A couple zookeepers at Wilmington's Brandywine Zoo and a Pennsylvania Game Commission official do not think it's a cougar. A retired New Castle County police officer and former cougar hunter said he does think it's a cougar.

Either way, Henry said he wants the experts to give it a good look. He said if it is a cougar families in the area need to know about it because it could be a public safety issue.

Do you think the video shows a cougar or a house cat?

Jim Brady and his daughter live across the road from Henry and he too has seen the cat in question.

"The biggest problem is that I have a 9-year-old daughter," Brady said. "It was definitely not a house cat."

Brady said the cat has left large paw prints on his property and at one point he said he got way too close for comfort with the kitty right near the front of his house. He said he is sure it's a cougar and he is sure he doesn't want it creeping around his property anymore.

"Put out a cage and trap it. Put some raw meat in a cage and capture it. Put it where people can see it, and also where we don't have to worry about it as a concern for neighbors and everyone around us," Brady said.

Henry said he has tried to reach out to animal control experts. He said he wishes someone would just try to find the cat.

He and his neighbors said they'd feel a whole lot better going outside if this thing wasn't out there with them. Of course, then again, it might just be an enormous house cat.
