Three Teens Among Five Shot Blocks Apart

An outbreak of gun violence erupted in Chester on Sunday night, prompting investigators to try to figure out if two shooting scenes are related.Three people were injured in a shooting Sunday night at the corner of West Eighth and Kerlin streets.When police arrived at the scene just after 2:30 a.m., they found 200 to 300 young adults.
As officers tried to clear the group, they found a 13-year-old girl who had been shot in the buttocks. Another two shooting victims, a 20-year-old woman and 20-year-old man, were taken to the hospital in private vehicles.She was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center by paramedics.The 20-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the head, police said.A second shooting happened just after midnight in the 400 block of Frank Young Avenue just blocks away from the first shooting.View ImagesAuthorities said two 14-year-old boys were shot at the second location.One suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and the other victim was struck several times and rushed into surgery.Investigators said they believe both shootings may be related and they believe there are numerous witnesses.Police said they need assistance in identifying, locating and finding the people responsible for the violence. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 610-447-8431.Police did not release the names or medical conditions of any of the victims of the shootings.Investigators have not made any arrests.
