PHILADELPHIA -- Local children, who were holding an Alex's Lemonade stand to raise money for pediatric cancer, received a pleasant surprise when they were visited by a man who made a $1,000 donation.Neighbors in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia worked hard to have their very first Alex's Lemonade Stand.

Colleen Finn, lemonade stand organizer and mother, recalled how 13 neighborhood children wanted to get involved with the lemonade charity."They made shirts, they made shoeboxes, and they went around collecting to neighborhood houses," Finn said. There was no set price for a cup of lemonade, any donation would be help, but the children had a goal of a $1,000 for the day."We just started and a man came up and said he would like to make a donation, he gave us an envelope," one child said. When the children later took the envelope out of the money jar they found 10 $100 bills. The children's entire goal was in one envelope from a mystery man. The day's grand total was more than $2,300, which was beyond their wildest dreams."We couldn't believe it. We all broke down crying we just couldn't believe it. We were like shaking, oh my god, he's an angel," Finn said."I think he's very generous and wherever he is I'd like to say, 'thank you.'" Brian Finn, 8, said."I was just shocked when I found out and that was just really nice of him to do that," Dan McGuigan, 11, said.So to the anonymous benefactor, the lemonade sellers would like to say, "thank you."
