A man claiming to be from South Philadelphia appeared to be torturing a small cat on an amateur video posted on MySpace.Many who saw the video contacted the NBC 10 Investigat ors, who dug a little deeper."I'm going to throw hot water on this bitch so he knows to leave us alone ... I'm going to end you," the male voice on the video said as the camera zoomed in on a small cat on the front porch.
The Pennsylvania SPCA received numerous reports, and in connection with the Philadelphia D.A.'s Office and local authorities launched an investigation in what appears to be animal abuse."People are calling us, they are in tears," SPCA's Elaine Skypala"This cat will know, will know not to return on my *expletive* porch again," the man said. Then a pot of water was dumped on the cat as a woman laughed in the background.There's another scene that shows a person grabbing bleach, and pouring it into a pot.The next scene portrays someone dumping a pot of liquid over the cat.Skypala is investigating to verify that the vid eos are real and obtained subpoenas to send to My Space to locate the address of the person who posted the video.It's hard to tell how badly the cat could have been hurt just be watching the video, Skypala said. Authorities said if the man on the video did harm the cat, he will get fined and could face jail time.Links
