NBA: Missed Foul in Final Seconds of Sixers-Kings, But Not on Embiid

The Sixers fell to the Kings, 102-100, on Monday night despite a 25-point effort from Joel Embiid. However, the game was not without a controversial finish.

With the Sixers trailing by two with three seconds remainig, it appeared as if  Embiid was fouled by DeMarcus Cousins as he heaved up a game-winning three (which he airballed).

If Embiid's Instagram account is any indication, he was clearly unhappy with the apparent no-call.

According to the NBA's "Last Two Minute Report" from the game, it turns out there was in fact a foul toward the end of the matchup, just not committed on Embiid.

Going for a rebound with 20 seconds left, Robert Covington had his arm clamped down by Kings guard Darren Collison, affecting his ability to retrieve the ball.

The NBA admitted this should have been called a foul and would have put Covington at the line with a chance to tie the game at 99. Instead, the Sixers were forced to foul and send the Kings to the free throw line.

Tough break for the Sixers.
