Moms Cut Down Driving Time
If you're a mom who's driving your kids from activity to activity after school and it's taking a chunk out of your wallet, there’s help. There's a great Web site that will save you money, get you some valuable time back and help the environment.Christine Nuzzolo is a mom on the go. So is Wendy Burnham.
Burnham says, “It's crazy. It is crazy and I work full-time. So, as soon as I get home from work, we're in the car and driving this one there and picking up that one."But these busy moms have discovered how to cut down on their driving time. It's a Web site called dividetheride.com. The site’s founder, Debbie Koke says, “A parent would go right onto the divide the ride site and input all their children's activities and invite people who they know and trust.”Burnham has cut her driving down from as much as 12 times a week to three or four times a month. She says, "I definitely have more time to do other things that I need to do. I feel like with gas being so expensive right now, it’s certainly saving me money and it's doing me green to be green."Nuzzolo says, "I think it's a great lesson for the kids. I think they're learning at a young age to help the environment."It's a way to go green, save money and time. And that's the reason why the Connecticut based founders of Divide the Ride created the Web site.Koke says, "It's become extremely popular we have users from all over the country and every day we're seeing a few hundred new users registering. We're anticipating with the figures we have, our goal is about 20,000 new users a month."All the more help for parents putting in overtime on the road.Nuzzolo says, "It's a huge improvement."Burnham says, "It makes me feel good that I’m helping my kids become part of the community and I’m helping the environment. It just makes sense."Linkdividetheride.com
