IRS Says Thousands Did Not Receive Rebate Checks Owed
The IRS says computer glitches and human error are the causes for the recent rebate check confusion.Almost 350,000 households did not receive the $300 per child rebate, which is part of the economic stimulus rebate payments.The Associated Press says the IRS did track down the errors. Many taxpayers did not check a necessary box on their paper tax returns to receive the checks and two tax prep software programs were not processing the needed information for the payments.
