If you want to save a bunch of money Friday, Consumer Alert has a Web site for you.NBC 10's Consumer Reporter Tracy Davidson has details on how much you can save.
'Tis the season for spending, especially in the northeast where the National Retail Federation says the average household will shell out $702 on gifts this holiday season. What most shoppers don't know is that sales are not just in the stores, they are online, and those savings can be generous.
Online coupons can be found from a lot of well-known retailers. Consumer Alert discovered one Web site that has a ton of coupons from a variety of stores, including Borders, CVS and Eddie Bauer. There are savings like $5 off a $25 purchase, 10 percent off a book or even $25 off a $75 purchase. You print the coupons out and use them at the store.

Wow-Coupons.com exceeded its bandwidth on Friday and is no longer accepting users. The Web site should be available again on Saturday.
Tracy tried it out. She took a coupon for $25 off a $75 purchase to Ann Taylor. The coupon didn't start until Friday, but the store's representative said the coupon would be good.
Tracy got $5 off $11 markers at Staples. From Lord & Taylor she got 15 percent off a purse. No problem. The only rejection Tracy got was from Fashion Bug, where they said store clerks said they were having a special sale day where no coupons were honored.
