People are always forgetting to take their vitamins and supplements. So, why not slip them into something they never forget, like their coffee? That 's the idea behind one coffee company. For many people, a cup of Joe gets the morning started. But this coffee has something hidden in the blend: a collection of antioxidants made from green tea, grape seed, pomegranates and blueberries."You won't see it. You won't smell it. When you smell it and brew it, you won't taste it. You won't know it's there until I tell you it's there," said Ray Basa. He's the food scientist behind The Healthy Bean, a coffee that packs a punch of antioxidants and protein in every cup."I was thinking, 'What is the best way for consumers to get the benefits of all these healthy nutrients without going out of their normal routine?'" he said. So, Basa developed a way of hiding the taste in the coffee. You get your nutrients, but you enjoy your coffee. The idea of adding vitamins and antioxidants has been going on for quite some time in everything from juices to water."Many people do not eat their fruits and vegetables anyway, so this might be a way to get a little extra in," Basa said. But can you taste the difference?"I really didn't taste any difference from any other coffee," said one person. You might tell the difference however, in the price. A 12-ounce supply runs nearly $17.Right now, you can only buy The Healthy Bean Coffee online. The company is hoping to eventually sell it's coffee at health food stores, such as Whole Foods. To find out more, click here.
