Researchers at Arizona State University released a survey on Monday showing that writing love letters lowers cholesterol levels.

Study participants wrote love letters for 20 minutes, three times over a five-week period. Another group of study participants wrote about insignificant topics.

The group that wrote love letters had significantly lower levels of cholesterol than the other group, the study showed.

Researchers said the study shows there are ways to target high cholesterol without using medicine.
