The 1980s action adventure series "Knight Rider" returns with a new two-hour movie this Sunday night on NBC.
It's "Knight Rider" for a new generation. The Trans-Am is now a Ford Mustang, the talking car has a new voice and there's a different man behind the wheel."This car has nanotechnology. It can change into whatever it needs to survive," said actor Justin Bruening.Bruening stars as Mike Tracer in the movie, which continues the legacy of the 1980s hit."It's the car I always wanted as a kid. It's actually my company car now, so to speak," Bruening said. The show's original "Knight Rider," David Hasselhoff, also makes an appearance in the movie."Everywhere I go, it's not 'Baywatch,' it's 'Yo, Knight Rider!'" said Hasselhoff.Bruening said it's the perfect role for him. "I got cars, fights and guns. I’m like a kid in a candy store," he said.Tracer's also got a love interest in Sara Graiman, the daughter of the car's creator, played by Deanna Russo."No matter what happens, Sara never loses her sense of sarcasm and wit," Russo said.Along with the actors, the car gets heavy-duty star treatment on the set."We have hair and makeup," Bruening said. "Every five minutes, there's someone (who) buffs the fingerprints off Kitt."The voice of the new "Kitt" is actor Val Kilmer.
