Computer Battery Recall

POSTED: 3:08 pm EDT September 28, 2006

Thousands of computer battery packs are being recalled because of a fire hazard.

The batteries are on Thinkpad notebook computers.

They are rechargeable lithium ion batteries.

Lenovo is the company that distributes them. They got a complaint that one caught fire.

You can look for the model number on the corner of the label that's on the battery.

There are too many model numbers to list here, but the recall affects the T series, R series and Xseries.

There's also a phone number for Lenova.

If you have one of the batteries, stop using it and call Lenovo for a replacement.

For More Information

Owners can call Lenovo at 800-426-7378 or visit Lenovo.com to determine if the battery is part of the recall.
