How Have The Events Of September 11th Affected You?

Q1: 24 % of local viewers taking part in the survey either know someone who was killed or injured on 9/11, or were injured themselves.

Q2: 18 % were involved/know someone who was involved in the rescue effort.

Q3: 6 % were involved/know someone who was involved in the military response.

Q4: As a direct result of 9/11, 0 % are now spending more freely, 53 % say their spending has not been affected, and 47 % are now spending more conservatively.

Q5: 6 % have suffered a loss of household income.

Q6: 35 % personally know someone outside their home who's suffered a loss of household income.

Q7: Of the 94 % in the workforce, 47 % say that their company has lost revenue and/or cut jobs.

Q8: Of the 59 % involved with children, 30 % say that the kids seem more frightened/insecure, angry/irritable, or withdrawn.

Q9: 53 % say that they personally feel more frightened/insecure, angry/irritable, or withdrawn.

Q10: 29 % are now more spiritually involved, while 0 % say the are less spiritually involved.

Q11: Of the 94 % considering travel by air, 0 % are now more likely to fly, 44 % say they are less likely to fly, and 56 % say their air travel has not been affected.

Q12: 41 % feel the government has improved domestic security; 53 % feel the government has NOT improved domestic security, and 6 % say they don't know.

Q13: 94 % feel that we're still vulnerable to terrorist attacks; 6 % say that we're not, and 0 % say they don't know.

Q14: 88 % feel that more needs to be done to improve national security; 12 % feel that we don't, and 0 % say they don't know.

Q15: 75 % are now more interested in world news, 25 % say their interest has not been affected, and 0 % are now less interested.

Q16: Of the 100 % who say that this question might apply to them, 41 % say they are more suspicious of people who appear to be of Middle Eastern origin, 41 % say they have not been affected, and 18 % say they are now more sympathetic.

Q17: 29 % are now more involved in the community, 65 % say their involvement has not been affected, and 6 % are now less involved.

Q18: 53 % say the events of 9/11 have strengthened their community, 29 % say the community has not been affected, 0 % say it's weakened the community, and 18 % aren't sure.

Q19: 76 % say the events of 9/11 have strengthened the country, 12 % say the country has not been affected, 6 % say it's weakened the country, and 6 % aren't sure.

Q20: 53 % say they are now spending less time at work in order to spend more time with family and friends.
